Blackpool Air Show 2016

Blackpool's annual air show was first run in October 1909.

Lord Northcliffe of the Daily Mail is credited with suggesting the event to Blackpool Town Hall in August 1909. The Corporation was very enthusiastic and set a date of 18-23 October 1909 which made it the first official aviation meeting in the UK under the auspices of the Aero Club of the United Kingdom (now the Royal aero Club) [BBC].
