Flying over The Grand Canyon

Las Vegas, Boulder City Airport. Evening flight over the Grand Canyon.

Hoover Dam clearly showing the new four-lane bypass opened in October 2010. With the opening of the bypass through traffic is no longer allowed across the Hoover Dam road which formerly served as the Colorado River crossing for U.S. Route 93.

Grand Canyon National Park (West Rim). Nearly two billion years of Earth's geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock.
