Severn Valley Railway 1940s Weekend
4th July 2015
The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) runs an annual Step Back to the 1940s weekend when re-enactors perform war-time roles such as ID Wardens to "perform spot checks on any shifty-looking passengers" and the visiting public dress up to suit the occasion or to play their part.
During the weekend the railway runs a comprehensive service of steam-hauled trains along its famous 16 mile route through the picturesque countryside of Shropshire and Worcestershire.
